How to Join AIIMS Delhi as Senior Residents / Senior Demonstrators for 528 Posts

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), a medical institution of national prominence in India, was established by an Act of Parliament in 1956. The act designates AIIMS as an independent entity authorized to award its own medical degrees and academic distinctions. Under the Indian Medical Council Act, these degrees are accepted medical qualifications. This law guarantees degree-holders the same privileges and recognition as graduates from recognized universities across India.

AIIMS, New Delhi, has announced a recruitment process for the roles of Senior Residents/Senior Demonstrators, with the last date for online application being 28th June 2023. The recruitment process is carried out via AIIMS' official website and is subject to stipulations including those related to caste and economically weaker section (EWS) certification. For instance, OBC candidates must possess a caste certificate issued by a competent authority within the last year, and the EWS candidates should have their certificates issued after 1st April 2023.

The online registration process commences on 14th June 2023 and ends on 28th June 2023, with the application status uploaded on 3rd July 2023. Candidates are expected to review the status of their applications and resolve any discrepancies by 5th July 2023. The recruitment test is scheduled for 15th July 2023 with the initial results anticipated to be declared by 21st July 2023. Details for subsequent interviews will be released after the declaration of the initial results.

The application fee is Rs.3000/- for General/OBC Category and Rs.2400/- for SC/ST/EWS Category. However, the latter fee is refundable, less any applicable bank charges, upon the candidate's appearance in the first stage of the Computer Based Test (CBT) Examination. Persons with Bench-mark Disabilities [PWBD] are exempted from any fee.

A total of 528 posts are up for grabs under the Indian Government's Residency Scheme, including existing vacancies, backlog positions, and future vacancies due to arise from 1st July 2023 to 31st December 2023.

Applications are open to both medical and non-medical candidates for Senior Resident/Senior Demonstrator posts in the departments of Anatomy, Pharmacology, Biophysics & Biochemistry. For other departments, except Medical Physics, only medical candidates can apply. In contrast, only non-medical candidates can apply for Senior Demonstrator posts in Medical Physics & Biotechnology.

DETAILS OF VACANCIES:- To Join AIIMS Delhi as Senior Residents / Senior Demonstrators

Branch: The online applications are invited from Indian Citizens as per Govt. of India’s Residency Scheme, for the following posts of Senior Residents/Senior Demonstrators for the tenure period of 3 years. These posts include existing vacant posts, backlog vacancies, and those posts which will fall vacant between 01.07.2023 to 31.12.2023.

Total No. of Vacancy: 

528 Posts, This is the tentative number of seats available in each Group for the JULY 2023 session.

• Candidate can apply for these posts only through online registration of application on AIIMS website: – www.aiimsexams.ac.in under head “Recruitments” w.e.f. 14th June,2023 (Wednesday), as per the terms & conditions mentioned therein. The last date for applying to the post of Senior Residents/Senior Demonstrators is 28th June, 2023 (Wednesday) (Up to 5:00 pm). 
• Candidates applying under OBC/EWS/SC/ST/PWBD category have to upload their OBC / EWS / SC / ST / PWBD certificate on or before last date of registration. 
• The candidates who are in service in any Govt. Hospital/Institutions/Any Other Pvt./Govt. Organization are required to submit their application through proper channel. 
• The Candidates will not be permitted for interview if they fail to display / show their NOC Certificate on the day of interview.

Pay Scales:

• For Medical candidates Rs.18,750+6600 (Grade Pay)+NPA plus other usual Allowances or revised pay scale as per 7th CPC as applicable. In the Pay of Level 11 of Pay Matrix (Pre-revised pay Band-3 with the entry Pay of Rs. 67700/- 
• For Non-Medical candidates M.Sc. with Ph.D. Rs.56100/= in level 10 under 7th CPC plus other usual Allowances.
• For post of Senior Demonstrators in Medical Physics & Biotechnology (those with M.Sc.) of Rs.12090 + 4200 (Grade Pay) plus other usual Allowance.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:- To Join AIIMS Delhi as Senior Residents / Senior Demonstrators

Upper Age Limit: Aa On 31.08.2023

• The upper age limit for applying these posts is 45 years as on 31.08.2023. The maximum permissible relaxations are: 
  1. SC/ST candidates 5 years
  2. OBC candidates 3 years  
  3. Persons with Bench-mark Disabilities [PWBD] General Category 10 years
  4. Persons with Bench-mark Disabilities [PWBD] OBC Category 13 years
  5. Persons with Bench-mark Disabilities [PWBD] SC/ST Category 15 years 
• The upper age limit in case of Ex-serviceman and Commissioned Officers including ECOs/SSCOs/Government servants shall be relaxed by Five years’ in addition to the relaxation in (a) & (b) above, subject to the condition that on the closing date for receipt of applications the continuous service rendered in the Armed Forces by an Ex-serviceman is not less than six months after attestation. 

Essential Qualifications:

• A postgraduate medical degree viz., MD/DNB/MDS/MS in Surgery/MCh./PH.D (Relevant Discipline for All Department)
• Candidates may kindly take note that for the post of Senior Residents/Senior Demonstrators in the department of Anatomy, Pharmacology, Biophysics & Biochemistry both Medical as well as NonMedical candidates can apply. 
• For other departments (except Medical Physics) only medical candidates can apply. 
• For post of Senior Demonstrators in Medical Physics & Biotechnology – Only Non-Medical candidates can apply. 
• OBC Certificate must have been issued within 1 year before last date of application. 

(In the event any candidate possesses the qualification of M.Sc. with Ph.D., the pay scale will be similar to that of Non-Medical candidates with Ph.D)

(i) To be eligible for selection for these posts, the candidate should pass the qualifying examination by 31.08.2023 & result should be declared to this effect on or before this date. The tenure of qualifying degree should also be completing latest by 31.08.2023.

(ii) Only those candidates who have been / are declared successful in their qualifying degree exam/viva i.e. DNB/MD/MS/Ph.D./M.Sc. (as applicable) and will be completing their tenure for the same on or before 31.08.2023 will be eligible to the considered for these posts.

(iii) In case of those who have appeared for exam / viva voce and result is yet to be declared then applicant will be allowed to appear in theory and/or interview provisionally. However, Result should be available by 31.08.2023.

COMPETETIVE RECRUITMENT TEST:-

• The Recruitment Test shall be conducted through a Computer Based Test (CBT).
• The examination shall be held on tentatively on 15th July, 2023.
• The duration of the Test shall be 1½ hours (90 minutes).
• The Online (CBT) Recruitment Test will be conducted in one shift: Timing for: 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM The examination centres are tentatively proposed in 4 cities all over India.

TYPE OF PAPER:-

• The Competitive Entrance Examination will have one paper in English language consisting of 80 (Eighty) Objective Type (Multiple Choice type) questions

SUBJECTS:-

SCHEME OF MARKING:-

• a) CBT online test
  • Each correct response will get a score of 1 mark.
  • No marks will be awarded for the questions not answered or marked for review (Questions marked for review shall be considered as unanswered).
  • There will be no negative marking.
• b) Interview
  • The Interview will carry 20 marks.
  • The merit list(s) for all categories i.e. SC/ST/OBC/UR/EWS shall be prepared on the basis of combined marks of online test and interview. 

METHOD OF RESOLVING TIES:-

All Tie cases (more than one candidate having same marks) have been resolved on date of birth. Older candidate (earlier date of birth) is ranked above younger candidate.

PREPARATION OF MERIT LIST:-

Applying the above method for resolving ties Overall and Category-wise merit Lists shall be prepared accordingly.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:- 

• The Candidate can apply only in any one Subject / Specialty only out of 59 Subject / Specialty as enlisted.
• Computer Based Test (CBT) in online mode of 80 Marks based on MCQs in the subject concerned will be conducted on 15th July, 2023 in 4 Metro Cities in India (Chennai, Delhi/NCR, Kolkata & Mumbai). The eligible candidates will be intimated about exact time and place of online examination through admit card which will be uploaded on AIIMS websites www.aiimsexams.ac.in. Candidates are required to take print out of their Admit Card & produce the same at the centre for online test. Please note that Admit Card(s) will not be sent by post.
• The list of candidates who qualify in the Computer Based Test (CBT) & eligible for interview will be displayed on AIIMS websites www.aiimsexams.ac.in . The Groups of Interview will be announced with Stage-I result.
• Subject wise date, schedule of interview will be announced with result of Stage –I(CBT)
• The Final Result Notification (Stage-II): The Final Result will only be available on AIIMS website at www.aiimsexams.ac.in

• Read the Prospectus thoroughly before filling in the Application Form.
• Select the 'Online Registration' option. Fill in the mandatory details as requested.
• Pay the non-refundable Recruitment Test fee through Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking.
• Ensure correct details are provided in the Registration Form to avoid cancellation or communication issues.
• Choose only one Group out of the 59 Subject/Specialty options available.
• Upload Photo, Signature, and Left Thumb Impression according to the Prospectus' instructions.
• Avoid making multiple applications to prevent cancellation.
• After successful Online Registration, an acknowledgement will be sent to your registered email ID.
• Check your registration status and the status of uploaded images within 3-5 days of registering.
• If any images are rejected, you can update them while registration is open.
