The course offers a four-year B.Tech degree and is available for the Executive & Technical branch. A total of 30 vacancies are available for both genders, with a maximum of nine openings specifically allocated for women. The age eligibility requirement is for candidates born between July 2, 2004, and January 1, 2007.

Candidates looking to apply must have passed their Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or an equivalent examination from any board with a minimum aggregate of 70% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English. Moreover, candidates must have appeared for the JEE (Main) - 2023 exam for B.E/ B. Tech. The shortlisting for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews will be based on the JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) - 2023. As part of the selection procedure, all applicants shortlisted for the SSB interviews based on their JEE rank will be informed via email and SMS. The SSB interviews will commence from August 2023 at Bangalore, Bhopal, Kolkata, and Visakhapatnam. Upon successful completion of the SSB interviews, candidates must undergo a medical examination, after which the merit list would be prepared. Final selection will be subject to the verification of police records and character references, as well as the availability of vacancies. Selected candidates will undergo a four-year B.Tech course in Applied Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electronics & Communication Engineering, as per Naval requirements. Upon completion, the B.Tech degree will be awarded by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

The Indian Navy will bear the entire cost of training, including books, reading materials, clothing, and messing. Pay & Allowances/ Group Insurance & Gratuity/ Leave Entitlements/ Duties of Officers:  The Indian Navy offers a well-structured pay scale and promotion policy for its officers. Promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is on a time scale, and subsequent promotions are based on service fulfillment and selection. The pay scale is presently under revision, with ranks from Sub Lieutenant to Commander inclusive of a Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs. 15,500. The basic pay starts from Rs. 56,100 for a Sub Lieutenant and goes up to Rs. 2,50,000 for the rank of Chief of Naval Staff. Various allowances are also applicable based on the technical or specialized roles an officer performs. For instance, technical officers receive between Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 7,250 per month, while a qualified pilot or observer, and MARCOs earn between Rs. 13,500 to Rs. 21,000 per month. Diving officers receive between Rs. 1,200 to Rs. 600 per month. Further, all officers receive a uniform grant of Rs. 24,000 initially, with Rs. 7,500 every three years. A House Rent Allowance (HRA) is given to officers not provided with government accommodation, ranging from 10% to 30% of their basic pay. Additionally, all officers are entitled to a transport allowance of Rs. 1,600 to Rs. 3,200 plus Dearness Allowance. Other specific allowances are given based on the role and area of service.

During the training period, the cadets receive a fixed stipend. Upon completion of the training, the cadets are inducted into regular service, where they become eligible for a salary as per the 7th Pay Commission's Level 10 Matrix. This signifies a monthly salary ranging from ₹56,100/- to ₹2,50,000/- which is equivalent to the earlier pay band of ₹15,600-39,100/- and a Grade Pay of ₹5400/-. The allowance and benefits further enhance the total remuneration.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:- Join Indian Navy 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Jan 2024

Age: The age eligibility criterion for these positions requires that candidates should have been born between 2nd July 2004 and 1st January 2007 (both dates inclusive). This provision ensures that the candidates are at an optimum age to undergo the rigorous training and effectively serve the demanding roles in the Navy. Applicants are to note that only one application is to be submitted per candidate. It's also important to understand that the vacancies indicated are tentative and subject to change depending on the availability of training slots.
Educational Qualification: Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent examination from any Board with at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

Medical Standards/ Relaxation in Height and Weight/ Tattoo: All candidates recommended by SSB are required to undergo medical examination applicable to 10+2 (B Tech) entry. Guidelines for medical standards are available on the Indian Navy website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. There is no relaxation in medical standards on any grounds. Change of medical hospital/centre is not permissible under any circumstances.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:- Join Indian Navy 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Jan 2024

  1. IHQ MoD (Navy) reserves the right to fix the cut off for shortlisting of applications for SSB based on JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) - 2023. All candidates are required to fill their Rank as per Common Rank List (CRL) in the application. SSB interviews for shortlisted candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Kolkata/ Visakhapatnam from Aug 2023 onwards.
  2. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview through e-mail and SMS (provided by candidates in their application form). Candidates are advised not to change their e-mail/ mobile number till selection process is over.
  3. Change of SSB Centre for examination/ interview is not permissible under any circumstances.
  4. Candidates are to download the call up letter on receiving intimation from IHQ MoD (N) via SMS/email (provided by candidate in their application). Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates should be addressed to the call up officer of the concerned SSB on receipt of call up letter.
  5. No compensation is admissible in case of any injury sustained as a result of tests during SSB interviews.
  6. AC 3 tier rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for particular type of commission. Candidates are required to bring photocopy of the first page of pass book or cheque leaf where the name, A/C No. & IFSC details are mentioned, while appearing for SSB.

MERIT LIST:- 

Merit list would be prepared based on SSB marks. Candidates declared fit in medical examination would be appointed subject to police verification and character verification & availability of vacancies in the entry.


TRAINING: - 

  1. Selected candidates will be inducted as Cadets for the four years B. Tech Course in Applied Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering as per Naval requirements. On completion of the course, B. Tech Degree will be awarded by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Distribution of cadets amongst Executive and Technical Branch (Engineering & Electrical) will be as per the extant policy.
  2. The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy. The cadets will also be provided with entitled clothing and messing.

 

HOW TO APPLY:- 

Candidates are to register and submit their application on the recruitment website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. To save time during the application submission window, candidates can fill in their details and upload documents in advance under their user profile. The procedure for applying online is explained below.

Note (1):

  1. Online (e-application). Whilst filling up the e-application, it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available to enable the following:-
    (i) Correct filling up of personal particulars details are to be filled up as given in the Matriculation Certificate/12th class certificate.
    (ii) Fields such as e-mail address, mobile number are mandatory fields and need to be filled.
  2. All relevant documents (preferably in original), Date of Birth proof (as per 10th/12th certificates), 10th class marksheet, 12th class marksheet, JEE(Main)-2023 Score card {indicating Common Rank List (CRL)} and a recent passport size colour photograph should be scanned in original JPG/TIFF format, for attaching the same while filling up the application. Candidates are to take print out of application and carry it along with original certificates/ documents as mentioned in Para 10(b) while appearing for SSB interview.
  3. If any scanned document is not legible/ readable for any reason the application will be rejected.
  4. The application once submitted will be final and no request for amendments/change will be entertained.
