Duties and Responsibilities
The Chief of Plastic Surgery will be responsible for:
- Delivering exceptional care to Veteran patients, adhering to hospital policy and community standards.
- Supervising all operational aspects of the Section of Plastic Surgery, including clinical care standards, operations, and quality.
- Developing strategic plans for the Section of Plastic Surgery in collaboration with other medical center leaders.
- Overseeing educational instruction of Albany Medical College residents and students.
- Participating in clinical review processes and administrative activities as directed.
Educational Qualifications
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Residency Training: Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Licensure: Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Additional Requirements
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery.
