Duties and Responsibilities

The Chief of Plastic Surgery will be responsible for:

  • Delivering exceptional care to Veteran patients, adhering to hospital policy and community standards.
  • Supervising all operational aspects of the Section of Plastic Surgery, including clinical care standards, operations, and quality.
  • Developing strategic plans for the Section of Plastic Surgery in collaboration with other medical center leaders.
  • Overseeing educational instruction of Albany Medical College residents and students.
  • Participating in clinical review processes and administrative activities as directed.

Educational Qualifications

  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Residency Training: Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Licensure: Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Additional Requirements

  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery.
