The registration fee for general category candidates is ₹ 4,000, while for SC, ST, and Below Poverty Line (BPL) candidates, it's ₹ 3,500. An additional ₹ 500 is required for question papers.

New Exam Pattern

In a bid to make the exam more student-friendly, the Consortium of National Law Universities has introduced some changes:

  • The number of questions for the undergraduate CLAT 2024 has been reduced from 150 to 120.
  • The duration of the exam remains the same at 2 hours.
  • The exam will be divided into five sections: English Language, Current Affairs Including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.

Who Conducts CLAT?

CLAT is a national-level entrance exam organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities. It is conducted for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by 22 National Law Universities in India.

Why the Changes?

The modifications in the exam pattern aim to make CLAT more accessible and student-friendly. The reduction in the number of questions is expected to ease the pressure on students while maintaining the exam's comprehensiveness.
