Richika Saikia, a young woman from Assam, achieved a perfect score of 800/800 in the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) in 2022. Currently in her second year at Delhi University's Miranda House, Richika is pursuing a four-year BA (Honours) in Sociology. Her academic journey began in Guwahati, where she completed her Class 10 from Shrimanta Shankar Academy and Class 12 from NPS International School, scoring above 95% in both. Richika chose Miranda House for its academic legacy and current standing. She always aspired to study at the University of Delhi, and Miranda House's reputation in academia made it her top choice. When it came to her CUET UG preparation, Richika preferred self-study and relied solely on NCERT books for subjects like Sociology, History, and Political Science. Richika advises future CUET UG aspirants to be determined and work hard. She emphasizes the importance of motivation as a driving factor and encourages students to approach the exam with confidence and full concentration. Richika is an avid reader and enjoys reading novels in her free time. She is part of the Book Club and the North East Society Cell at Miranda House. She also contributes to her department's magazine. Richika has her eyes set on the future. She plans to pursue her master's abroad in the area of gender studies.
