The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) has laid the foundation stone for a new campus in Kochi, signaling a significant expansion in its executive education activities. The new six-floor, 50,000-plus sq ft vertical campus will feature multi-format classrooms, conference facilities, a studio, and a library. The foundation stone was laid by the Board of Governors of IIM-K Chairman A Vellayan, in the presence of IIM-K Director Debashis Chatterjee and Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) Managing Director Loknath Behera. According to Vellayan, the decision to expand in Kochi is strategic for IIM-K. The city boasts a vibrant business and startup ecosystem and offers excellent connectivity for both domestic and international participants. "Our executive education programs have been seeing increasing traction, and this new campus will help us accommodate more programs," he said. The new dedicated IIM-K Kochi campus is being custom-built by KMRL, located right off NH-544 (Kochi-Salem highway) and situated behind the Cusat Metro station. This move comes after IIM-K had established its first Kochi campus in 2013, within the Infopark facility. Chatterjee emphasized that management education is India's unique soft power offering. He added that IIM-K has been continually redefining standards and making significant strides. "The new campus in Kochi underscores our emphasis on 'hi-tech and hi-touch,' enabling us to offer a variety of executive programs in multiple and blended formats," he said. The new campus in Kochi aims to serve the needs of businesses and working professionals in Kerala and its hinterland, including the Middle East and South Asia. It reflects IIM-K's commitment to providing top-notch management education and meeting the growing demand for its executive education programs.Strategic Expansion
